BIKER GANG HIERARCHY Each chapter of a motorcycle gang follows a strict hierarchy. Some gangs also have an overarching national or international hierarchy operating above the regional chapters. President: Leader of the gang with full authority over the members. Called El Presidente in the Bandidos. Vice-President: Assumes president's duties in his absence. Secretary/Treasurer: Handles the money and keeps the books. Sergeant-at-Arms: Enforces discipline and maintains armoury. Called Sargento de Armas in the Bandidos. Road Captain: Rides at the front of the pack and deals with police during events. Full-Patch Member: Full members of the gang, who wear full colours, pay dues and have voting rights. Must be approved by a unanimous vote of established members. The Bandidos also have honorary members, who have retired from gang life but can still wear colours. Prospect: Prospective members are sometimes called "strikers" or "probates." Must perform tasks for members to prove their worth. Wear some gang badges, but not full colours. Hangaround: Act as associates and guards for gang members. Wear only the city patch for the gang. Friend: An official status between associate and hangaround in the Hells Angels. Associate: Someone who has been useful to the gang. May attend parties and events, but can't wear colours. http://www.cbc.ca/news/background/bikergangs/ |
